Chana Paneer Chaat

Chaat is a savory snack rooted in Uttar Pradesh originally but over the years it has become increasingly popular all across India. I knew a shop in Pune famous for the chaats it served, the variety was unbeatable and never had I tasted chaat elsewhere so finger-licking good. That shop was also one of the reasons I felt sad for while shifting from Pune to the city of joy.
Chaat is a good item to snack upon for people working upon their weight. You may skimp on potato if you feel it to be unnecessary. Few people add dollops of yogurt to this chaat, but I assume it tastes equally nice without yogurt.

Corn Chaat

When we were in Bangalore, after returning home from work, I used to feel very tired and hungry at the same time. Making arrangements for an elaborate cooking preparation would be the last thing hovering in my mind. Most of the time, I used to cook meal that would last up to the day after, giving me little respite from cooking dinner the next day. Lunches were mostly done in office. Often, especially during the rainy days when Bangalore traffic literally would come to a dead stop holding me up for home, dog-tired when dragging the body down the stairs to our flat posed a herculean task for me, I would conceive of cooking something quick involving effortless preparation. This Corn Chaat was my favourite dinner in those days. Served in a bowl with two hard-boiled eggs, it used to fit in rightly for the occasion.

However, nowadays while having it over dinner I deliberately avoid the eggs to save myself from allowing more calories into my body than necessary. (I love the egg yolks and without it eating eggs seems a bland affair.)

Jhal Muri

Back in our childhood days, when I used to return home from the playground with face and feet soiled in the puffs of dirt and grime, my mother would force me to clean up all the dirt in a tap well nearby before allowing me in home. Before I sat to study, my mother would prepare a large bowl of this tasty mouth-watering jhal muri meant to be shared by the three of us - me, dada and didi. It was almost a ritual snack in the hot and humid summer evenings.

If you are health conscious, you may substitute potato with black chickpea sprouts or kala chana. It will turn out equally tasty.

Kurkure Corn Kamal

I got this chaat recipe on the back of a Kurkure packet. I found it to be an amazing chaat, perfect for the evening.
